May 2025 Journal Update

It's the end of May! Actually, I'm typing this on the first of June. I meant to update this yesterday but ended up having a three hour long Sunday afternoon nap with drizzle and a Minecraft play through playing in the background. Oops, better late than never, etc.

Let's start with this month's Self Portrait and it's absolutely loaded with dreamy textures from watercolour, acrylic, gesso and coloured pencil.

I continued with ReFramed work with this trio of little landscapes that were already painted over the top of previous landscapes. Paintception! So when I return to them next year I'll have this cool textured white bar to work over.

In other ReFramed News, this little tennis ball piece was a birthday present for my Dad. Happy birthday, pops!

My inspiration for these two additions to my wee watercolours was...I'm in a bad mood and what colours do I want to look at right now? Stormy blue and violets, surprise!

I love these new pages from my Pink book, this is pretty much what the inside of my brain has been looking like. For good and bad!

I also like these Brown book pages, purple next to yellow just scratches an art itch for me.

The colour kick continues in the Yellow book, which will probably be finished in a couple of months.

Speaking of finished, the wee tapestry book is now filled and I miss it already!

More of that stormy blue in my square sketchbook. I think I'll work more in this once the Yellow book is done so I'm going to start putting down different primers on random spreads in advance for more experimental effects.

That's your lot for May 2025! I'll be back in a month, ish, to let you know about all the arting I'll hopefully have gotten up to.
