June 2025 Journal Update

So 2025 is already half way over...or only half way over, depending on how tired you're feeling about it! June has been a funny month, I'm working on getting various aspects of my health under (slightly more) control so I haven't done a ton of painting this month but I'm doing what I can and I have an idea cooking in what's left of my brain so I'm feeling positive!

I did manage to get my monthly self portrait done and I wish you could feel the texture of all that blue, it's white acrylic applied with a cake decorating tool, dried, and then doused in different concentrations of indigo ink. Lovely.

Brown book is still ongoing with acrylic, ink, marker, hand painted stickers, watercolour, whatever is within reach. The sketchbook is self is reaching that really heavy stage with pages crunching as they turn and the spine stretching from all the different materials. Even lovelier!

Same with the Pink sketchbook, I left some of the washi tape that I'd used to border that second spread because the orange contrasts so nicely with all the blue. I also love that blueberry yoghurt colour on the third spread, I think it was a mix of left overs from painting stickers.

Usual colour smorgasbord over in the Yellow book. It's almost full and starting to break apart a bit from all the times paint soaked the spine, a sign of a good sketchbook in my humble opinion.

My birthday is this month so I'm sure I'll be so much older and wiser for the next update. I'll be back at the end of July to find out!
